Andrew Andrews, National Vice President, Data Management Association Australia (DAMA)
Andrew first started working with data in 1984 at the Australian Bureau of Statistics, developing data management applications in SAS.
He has 30 years management consulting experience in data strategy, data management and data governance roles across Australia and New Zealand.
In 2018 he was recruited to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission as Data Governance Manager.
He later joined ANZ Banking Group in his current role as Data Governance Manager in the Group Risk Division.
He is a collaborator in the International Leaders’ Data Organisation (dataleaders.org).
He is a programmer by training with a mastery of software development, business management, and data management disciplines.
He has published several podcast episodes on Data Governance.
Andrew is the National Vice President 2021-2022, and former SA State President of the Data Management Association of Australia. In that capacity he is developing a national strategy for democratisation of data literacy education across Australian Universities.
He has been involved in Australian Community Radio broadcasting across a 40 year career, in roles including Board Chairman, on air presenter/production and Finance advisory.
Andrew is passionate about creating and growing communities of practice, and steering delivery of effective enterprise data governance programs.
