About The 2nd ANNUAL CDOIQ-APAC Symposium

For the past 17 years, the Annual CDOIQ Symposium (https://cdoiq2023.org/) was previously held on the MIT campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts USA, advancing knowledge in data leadership, and creating a better understanding into how firms can ensure quality in the data they collect, manage, and protect, and ensure quality in the use of the data and algorithms and programs developed which in turn will help Chief Data Officers create impactful value for business through trustworthy data.
On May 24, 2024, we are bringing again the CDOIQ Symposium to Asia-Pacific (https://cdoiq-apac.org/), in collaboration with Nanyang Business School (NBS) in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) (www.ntu.edu.sg) Singapore. It aims to bring together APAC data leaders in industries, government, and academia by facilitating thought-provoking conversations and collaboration on topics related to two major themes:
Theme 1: Data Strategy and Management
Theme 2: Analytics and AI Value Creation
The 1 day programme with an expected target audience of 400 attendees comprises top leaders (C-level officers, CDOs, Presidents and Directors) who make critical decisions on the way their organizations collect, manage, and use data.

2023 SYMPOSIUM HIGHLIGHTS

What a remarkable symposium it was on the 17th and 18th of May 2023 at Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. We registered 527 participants (21% C-Suite level) from 297 organizations across 29 industry sectors and 29 countries. We heard from 4 keynote speakers, 29 track speakers and 8 panellists. Industry leaders engaged us in 8 booths during breaks and lunch. It was a great step to activate and energize the data and analytics community in Asia-Pacific. Thank you for coming, contributing, and giving feedback/suggestions.
Here are some common feedback from attendees:
  • The speakers humanised and gave clear examples of implementing AI so that gave me more context rather than viewing AI as a “concept”.
  • The speakers communicated well and clearly. Their expertise was convincing and helped to enhance my understanding about AI.
  • With every emerging technology, it is absolutely necessary to bring the academia, industry, and government together to discuss opportunities and challenges, thereby creating synergies for better and more ethical outcomes.
  • Being able to network with people and to understand various data strategies was useful.

About Privacy Awareness Week

An initiative by the Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA), Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) is held annually by its members to promote awareness of privacy and personal data protection issues. CDOIQ Asia Pacific 2023 Symposium will be one of the featured events in conjunction with the Singapore PAW, led by the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC).
The PDPC is part of the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and serves as Singapore’s main authority in matters relating to personal data protection and represents the Singapore Government internationally on data protection related issues.
The PDPC will continue to promote and regulate data protection, as the use of data becomes more pervasive. This will ensure that public confidence in the private sector’s use of personal data is safeguarded, even as companies increasingly leverage the data they collect as a source of competitive advantage.
The Privacy Data Protection Commission (PDPC) is a supporting partner of CDOIQ Asia Pacific Symposium.
